Shartse College now operates a free clinic, open to all in the local community. It currently hosts a very basic set-up, but additional funds would allow it to cover more medical and dental equipment and supplies, compensate a skeleton staff, and help stock a small pharmacy with traditional Tibetan medicine. This costs an estimated $68,000 USD.
